Shafer, who’s based in Lincoln, started his tech career in 2000 as a systems engineer with Novell, then moved to Gateway as a field systems engineer before joining Microsoft in 2007. With Microsoft, he was an account technology strategist and a services executive for state/local/education in the West. After that, he held account executive positions with Dell EMC, Pure Storage and Lumen Technologies before moving to Oracle this month.

His LinkedIn profile lists his areas of expertise as enterprise software and cloud computing, among others.
Shafer grew up in San Diego and has been in Northern California for the last 17 years.
“Living in Lincoln for the last six years, I enjoy playing golf, driving my ’67 Mustang and spending time with my family,” Shafer said.
