Technology Department Recruiting for Windows Architect Expert

The California Department of Technology (CDT) is recruiting for a technical architect expert (IT specialist III) within the Windows Platform Service Area, including Windows technologies and Windows in the cloud.

“The IT Spec III will work to recommend, create and develop enterprise standards within these architectures to efficiently and effectively respond to changing CDT customer business needs within these technologies,” the job description says. “The IT Spec III will work with the Window Service Areas to develop continuous integration/continuous delivery solutions, containerization, use of open-source solutions, and database optimization. The ITS III possesses extensive lT technical knowledge, which includes emerging ‘cutting-edge’ technologies.”

About 50 percent of the responsibilities are analytical in nature, including:

  • Serves as the expert adviser and technical expert on infrastructure design and development frameworks for the Windows infrastructure to provide the department with robust, scalable and secure solutions.
  • Advises management on formulating IT strategy, policy and governance for the Windows Services.
  • Assists in the organizational development of an agile infrastructure development methodology and adheres to the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Provides expert technical assistance in the development of strategic road maps, technical blueprints, standards and reference architectures in support of infrastructure development for Windows technologies.

The position has a monthly salary range of $8,119 to $10,880, and the application deadline is Aug. 4.
