Techwire reaches first year milestone

Last week marked the 52nd time the Techwire.net weekly newsletter was distributed via email to subscribers, delivering timely and informative news about California’s technology industry.  Over the past year we have become the “go to” source for information about the annual $5 billion public sector industry and digital literacy community in Sacramento and across the state.

With 531 published articles, 85 videos, dozens of photos, 11 CIO Q&A profiles and local event coverage, our contributors have been very busy keeping the Techwire audience abreast of all-things-tech-related.   Our writers have interviewed state senators, assemblymembers, directors, an agency secretary, statewide elected officials, the FCC chairman and dozens of CIOs from state and local government.  Earlier this year we launched The Roundup newsletter that tracks state and local bids and state contract activity.  We are currently working on the 4th quarterly issue of Techwire Magazine and just last week launched a new interview series hosted by Christina Gagnier that promises to be informative and fun to watch.

I am thrilled at the positive feedback we receive and grateful to have the support of a hardworking team, including writers Elaine Armitage, Melanie Glover, Amy Stewart and Ashley Nelson (who recently left to join a public relations firm), host Christina Gagnier, design editor Emory Ensign, photo editor Bill Foster, multimedia editor Patrick Kuske and regular contributors Doug Eldridge, Rob Lindstrom,  Mike Montgomery and Gary Page.

I would also like to thank all of those individuals from both the public and private sectors who work with us to help document all that is happening in the community.   Thank you for the suggestions, tips, inviting us to events and thinking of us when there is news to share.

None of this would have been possible without the support of our online sponsors and magazine advertisers.   I would like to thank them all, including:  Accenture, AT&T, CGI, Comcast, Capitol Public Affairs, Deloitte, LLC, California Emerging Technology Fund, ENS Inc., Highlands Consulting Group, Kiefer Consulting,  Link Americas Foundation, M Corp,  McAfee, Inc., Pegasystems, Radian Solutions, Inc., Salesforce.com, Simas and Associates, Symsoft Solutions and Teranomic Software.

I encourage and appreciate your feedback.  Stay tuned as we look for ways to bring Techwire to the next level while continuing to providing reliable, relevant information every week.
