Longtime technology sales executive Eric Ureta has joined NetApp as a sales representative, covering California state government as well as Nevada.

Before joining NetApp last month, Ureta was most recently in sales with Fortinet, with responsibility for California and Nevada and the University of California system. Before entering the technology sector, Ureta worked in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) for 17 years and in the semiconductor industry for 10 years, according to an announcement from NetApp.

“We are so excited Eric joined our organization at NetApp,” said Ross Shapiro, NetApp’s division manager for state, local and education in 10 Western states. “He is driving one of our most prolific regions with the State of California and Nevada! His extensive experience, deep relationships, ability to deliver citizen value, along with his technical acumen, will serve our communities immensely,” Shapiro told Techwire.

Ureta is a graduate of California State University in Sacramento, and in his free time he enjoys coaching youth soccer, basketball and football, and he’s passionate about fishing, skiing and traveling. Ureta and his family live in Folsom.

“Eric is very excited to represent NetApp,” Shapiro said. “He has heard nothing but great things about our culture and products, so expectations are high.”
