Vendor Opportunity: L.A. Seeks ‘Core System’ to Replace Legacy Technology

The city's Department of Building and Safety seeks a company to design, implement, maintain and support “an ecosystem of software and database solutions” that can handle permitting, inspection, code enforcement and licensing.

The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) is seeking proposals from vendors for a new “core system” to replace its legacy hardware and software.

In a request for proposals that was posted Tuesday, the department seeks a company to design, implement, maintain and support “an ecosystem of software and database solutions” that can handle permitting, inspection, code enforcement and licensing.

“The new core system will replace the department’s current legacy systems with a solution developed as a product by a firm that anticipates LADBS business needs, integrates the legacy systems and records, provides ongoing support, and introduces a road map of new features and enhancements,” the RFP says.

Services sought by the city include custom computer programming; computer systems design; data processing, hosting and related services; and scientific and technical consulting services. Details and supporting RFP documentation are available to registered vendors.

An online mandatory bidders’ conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 4. “Outreach” responses are due by 11 p.m. Dec. 22; bids are due by 10 a.m. Jan. 6; and summaries are due by 3:30 p.m. Jan. 7. For more information, email LADBS.
