VIDEO: CWDS Demos New Snapshot Search Tool

Child Welfare Digital Services offered a demo Monday of its new Snapshot search tool, designed to increase efficiency for staff who work with child-welfare cases.

Child Welfare Digital Services, the state project that oversees the technology used in child welfare case tracking, held a demo Monday on its new Snapshot search tool. The training demo was recorded and made available here.

In addition, the project has presented a Project Roadmap that details rollout dates for Intake, CALS (Licensing) and Case Management. Snapshot, the first digital service tool to be rolled out as a part of the Project Roadmap, is set to go live early next year.

According to CWDS Communications Director Bill Maile, the tool allows staff to search for one or more persons and view the history of their involvement with child welfare, including referrals and cases, in a fraction of the time that it currently takes to do the same work in CWS/CMS. Specifically, Snapshot gives staff the ability to search for people across CWS/CMS from a single field, see each person’s current contact information and demographics, and view an at-a-glance summary of their CWS history. The tool also includes a way to easily copy and paste key information which will improve workflow. The CWS-CARES Implementation Team will help counties to prepare for Snapshot.
