TechNet Promotes Andrea Deveau to Vice President

Effective Dec. 15, Deveau will be charged with leading the group's 50-state advocacy program promoting public policies that support the technology industry. Deveau was TechNet’s executive director for California and the Southwest.

Technology industry advocacy group TechNet announced Friday that Andrea Deveau will serve as the organization’s vice president of state policy and politics effective Dec. 15. She succeeds John Doherty, who was recently appointed president and CEO of the Civil Justice Association of California.

Deveau currently works as TechNet’s executive director for California and the Southwest, a position she’s held since March 2014. As VP, she will lead the group’s 50-state advocacy program promoting public policies that support the technology industry.

“Whether [policies] revolve around equipping our students with 21st century skills, promoting advanced energy, or fostering startup growth, the tech sector must have a strong voice in these debates,” said TechNet President and CEO Linda Moore in the announcement. “That is why TechNet’s work at the state and local levels is so vital, and why we are so pleased to have Andrea lead our efforts in this space.”

TechNet has given input on a wide array of initiatives since it was founded, including the California Energy Commission’s updated energy saving standards for computers and monitors proposed in early September, an initiative that Deveau was actively involved in.

Deveau brings with her more than 15 years of experience in the energy policy field. Prior to joining TechNet, she served as senior director of policy innovation and market development for service provider Direct Energy, a steering committee member for the California Alliance for Competitive Energy Solutions and president of the Alliance for Retail Energy Markets.
