Direct Technology’s Energy Solutions Group (ESG) has named longtime technologist Amy Hess its new vice president of operations.

Hess, who most recently had served as director of strategic accounts for the Roseville-based Direct Technology, “will be responsible for overall delivery to clients, financial responsibility for all engagements and overall personnel management,” the company said in a news release. “For her, this will merely be a continuation of the responsibilities and interpersonal rapport she has created during her time at Direct Technology. … Amy has been instrumental in the design of the company’s earliest platforms and projects. She has also been involved in all major customer implementations.”

Hess graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s in chemical engineering in 1997 and was affiliated with Accenture and i2 Technologies before joining Direct Technology in July 2002, serving successively as project manager/business analyst, program manager and director of operations for ESG. She then was affiliated with Paradigm Applications as head of operations and with Lighthouse Patterns as a technology consultant before rejoining Direct Technology in April 2019 as director of strategic accounts, prior to assuming her current role.

“Amy was instrumental in the design of our platforms, including many of our earliest projects,” said Daniel Konieczny, chief executive officer for Direct Technology. “She brings extensive experience in the Energy Efficiency Program Management domain.”

ESG’s vice president and senior partner, Damion Walkup, also endorsed Hess’ promotion.

“Amy is perfect for this role,” Walkup said in the company news release. “She sets the direction and energy for the team and creatively tackles customer challenges. Her experience with our delivery team, products and customers gives her an edge to deliver exceptional quality to our valued customer base. Amy is inspirational and great at what she does.”

Direct Technology is a veteran-owned tech consulting firm founded in 1995 and based in Roseville, with offices in Bellevue, Wash. It offers technology solutions including cloud, managed IT, business continuity, data center, digital accessibility and energy efficiency software as a service (SaaS).
