Torassa has been with the company for just over a year, working as an enterprise account executive for public-sector sales before his promotion.

“This is an exciting new opportunity to work with all the states and agencies across the country,” Torassa told Techwire.

Torassa has been in sales and management for more than 15 years, the last six in the tech sector. His previous industry affiliations before Elastic were with Symantec and Nulia.

While with Symantec, Torassa worked under Joe Mara, who is now Elastic’s vice president for North America SLED and all markets in Canada. Mara was promoted to his current position in May and is pleased that his former colleague has also moved up.

“We are excited that Sean brings a proven track record of developing and growing key relationships with state and local government entities across the country,” Mara told Techwire. He said he’s looking forward to Torassa “building partnerships and sharing unique strategies to solve today’s ever-changing landscape in the government space.”

Elastic “powers workplace search, observability, and security solutions that can be deployed on premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments,” according to the company profile.

In his LinkedIn profile, Torassa describes himself as “adept at driving company initiatives toward continuous growth and improvement; cultivating key business partnerships; and consistently meeting and exceeding sales and organizational goals.”

Torassa is active in the Information Systems Security Association, having served in a variety of leadership roles including the presidency. He is an alumnus of Augusta State University, where he majored in education with a focus on chemistry and physics.
